Аннотация

Статья предлагает взглянуть на очерк «Вода и ветер» и документы из фонда М. Шкапской Российского архива литературы и искусства как на исторические источники по изучению китайских мигрантов в 1920–1930-х гг. Ранее творчество Шкапской о Дальнем Востоке и китайских мигрантах, ее рукописи и фотографии не исследовались в качестве материала о жизни и быте китайцев в Советском Союзе. Сравнивая содержание цитат очерка с архивными документами данного периода, можно сделать вывод о достоверности взгляда автора на китайский мир Владивостока. Знание основ китайского языка и интерес к китайской культуре позволили Шкапской более глубоко взглянуть на причины пребывания мигрантов в регионе, оценить бытовые условия жизни, обозначить механизмы, регулирующие численность мигрантов, описать изменения, произошедшие в процессе советизации китайской культуры, акцентировать внимание на социальных проблемах мигрантов: азартных играх, наркомании, проституции. Очерк Шкапской призывает уделить больше внимания вопросам интеграции китайских мигрантов в советское общество и борьбе с посредниками при трудоустройстве и в работе, которые являлись одним из самых трудно изменяемых явлений в китайском обществе мигрантов. Религиозная жизнь китайских мигрантов, хоть и не находит отражение в очерке и документах, оставляет след в виде уникальных фотографий в фонде М.М. Шкапской. Описания китайского мира, сделанные Шкапской по материалам ее командировок на Дальний Восток СССР, становятся иллюстрацией исторической хроники пребывания китайцев в регионе.

Abstract

The article utilizes research from the essay «Water and Wind» and documents from the M. Shkapskaya collection of the Russian Archive of Literature and Art as historical sources for studying Chinese migrants in the 1920s and 1930s. Previously, Shkapskaya’s work about the Far East and Chinese migrants, her manuscripts and photographs had not been studied as material about the life and the everyday life of the Chinese in the Soviet Union. Comparing the content of the materials, and quotations with archival documents of this period, one can conclude that the author’s view of the Chinese world of Vladivostok is reliable. Knowledge of the basics of the Chinese language and interest in Chinese culture allowed Shkapskaya to take a deeper look at the reasons for the migrants stay in the region, assess their living conditions, identifying the mechanisms regulating the number of migrants, describing the changes that occurred in the process of Sovietization of Chinese culture, and focused on the social problems of migrants: gambling, drug addiction, prostitution. Shkapskaya’s essay calls for more attention to be paid to the issues of integrating Chinese migrants into Soviet society and the fight against intermediaries in employment and work, which were one of the most difficult phenomena to change in the Chinese migrant society. The religious life of Chinese migrants, although not reflected in the essay and documents, leaves a trace in the form of unique photographs in the M.M. Shkapskaya collection. Descriptions of the Chinese world made by Shkapskaya based on the materials of her business trips to the USSR Far East become an illustration of the historical chronicle of the Chinese in the region.
