Аннотация

В данной статье представлен обзор описаний Капского полуострова (Кейпа), сделанных российскими моряками, побывавшими на этой территории в период с конца VIII по начало XX века. Также даны сведения о кругосветных плаваниях, совершенных российскими кораблями на протяжении этого времени с заходом в порт Кейптауна, и биографии моряков, оставивших свои заметки. В работах Ю.Ф. Лисянского, В.М. Головина, Г.К. Блока, А.И. Бутакова, К.Н. Посьета, А.В. Вышеславцева, А.Е. Врангеля, В.М. Линдена, которые были опубликованы при их жизни и пользовались большой популярностью у читающей публики, содержатся подробные сведения о природных особенностях, хозяйственной деятельности, образе жизни всех проживающих на территории Южной Африки народов: как белых колонистов, так и африканцев, цветных и азиатов. В трудах разносторонне образованных российских моряков, представляющих целую когорту россиян-исследователей, мы видим не только удивительно интересные в литературном плане описания, но и живые исторические свидетельства жизни Южной Африки конца VIII − начала XX века.

Abstract

The article is based on overview of descriptions of the Cape Peninsula (Cape) made by Russian sailors who visited this territory from the end of the 18th to the 19th centuries. Information is presented about the circumnavigations of the world by Russian ships during this time, calling at the port of Cape Town, and the biographies of the sailors who left their notes. Works of Yu.F. Lisyansky, V.M. Golovnin, G.K. Blok, A.I. Butakov, K.N. Posiet, A.V. Vysheslavtsev, A.E. Wrangel, V.M. Linden, which were published during their lifetime and were very popular among the readers, contain detailed information about the natural features, economic activities, and lifestyle of South African White Colonists, Africans, Colored and Asians. In the works of educated Russian sailors, representing a whole cohort of Russian researchers, we see not only interesting literary descriptions, but also historical evidence of the life of South Africa at the end of the 18th - 19th centuries.
