Аннотация
В статье рассматриваются методологические проблемы, возникшие в мировой историографии при описании военных действий в Средние века и Новое время, в частности, при составлении баз данных о войнах с участием европейских государств (в том числе России). Особое внимание уделено комплексному научному подходу, который был разработан коллективом исследователей в рамках проекта по военной истории «Руниверс» и позволяет описывать и оценивать работу государственной военной машины «изнутри» на основе обширных статистических баз данных по боевым действиям. В основе этого подхода лежит принцип преемственности в описании состава, дислокации и действий вооруженных сил в ходе военных кампаний начиная с XV в. и до начала Первой мировой войны.
Анализ объективной военной статистики осуществляется на основе кампаний, как основной меры военной активности, а также развертывания войск как в военное, так и в мирное время. Это дает возможность анализировать и оценивать ежегодную работу государственной военной машины (включая накопление средств, их распределение и использование) на длительных временных отрезках, измеряемых десятилетиями и даже столетиями.
Abstract
The article deals with the methodological problems that arise in global historiography when describing military operations in the Middle Ages and the Modern times, in particular, when compiling databases on wars involving European states (including Russia). Particular attention is paid to the integrated scientific approach developed by a team of researchers in the framework of the «Runivers» project on military history which allow description and evaluation of the work of the state military machine on the basis of extensive statistical databases of military operations. This approach is based on the principle of continuity of the personnel’s description, deployment and actions of the armed forces during military campaigns, beginning from the 15th century until the start of the First World War. The military statistics objective analysis has been based on the campaigns as the essential measure of military activity, as well as the deployment of troops, both in wartime and in peacetime. This approach allows analysis and evaluation of the annual work of the state military machine (including logistical build-up, allocation and use) over long period of time, measured in decades and even centuries.
